I went home, evaluated the situation, and just buzzed the rest of my hair off. I’d thought about trying to get my Provo stylist to fix my hair, but her poor thinning technique meant my hair wasn’t really salvageable. So I buzzed everything super short, and now, months later, my hair is beginning to get close to where it used to be. I now make the drive down to Provo to see my old stylist.
I got lucky with a walk in, best hair cut ever. I got my hair cut by Stephen who did a really great job. Everyone was really friendly and pleasant. The salon its self was well cared for and modern. It's a little more than I usually pay for a hair cut but it was worth it and I will be returning. I recommend this place!
To be fair, the salon itself is relatively nice. The location is great, first of all, the interior looks pretty good. It’s got attractive decor, with the washroom being especially pretty and soothing. That being said, it was a bit dirtier than I’m used to, with a lot more loose hair on the floor at any given time. Still, the salon is nice enough, and the desk staff was very friendly and welcoming, which seemed like an auspicious beginning.
The problem was my stylist. I sat down with her, explaining carefully that I wanted to clean up my current cut: buzzed on the sides, longer on top, with some thinning out to deal with my massive amounts of coarse hair. I showed her a picture of how I liked it to look.
The end result? My sides were longer than I wanted, and unevenly done so that my head looked a bit like an upside down pear. That might have been fixable, but the top was butchered. You know how huskies have a thick undercoat and then a longer, wispier coat? That’s what it looked like. I’m frankly flabbergasted that they employ someone who thought her way of thinning was acceptable. I really should have refused to pay, but I was upset enough that I just wanted to leave.
Harleigh is AMAZING! My hair has never looked this good. I will definitely be back. Thanks girl!
It didn’t work. As she was cutting, I had to repeatedly tell her that I wanted the sides shorter. She seemed super uncomfortable with using even a #3 guard on the sides, even when I said a #1 would be good. Then with the top: her idea of thinning was to take thinning shears and just cut parallel to the ground the entire way across.
I recently moved to Holladay from Provo, where I’ve been seeing the same stylist for over two years. While I was a little nervous about visiting a new salon, I figured that a place with 4.7 stars couldn’t be too bad. Dear reader, I was wrong.
Honestly, if you have long hair, this place might be fine. Your longer layers can hide poor technique far better than short hair can, and the place itself is decently nice. But if you have short, unforgiving hair like I do, go elsewhere.
Absolutely LOVE this location! Not only is the entire staff polite and friendly but Sarah is an amazing stylist! She always does a phenomenal job and is the only person I trust doing my hair. If I could give more stars I definitely would! Keep up the great work guys!
Right off the bat, the decor is stunning. Everything is very clean and neat. Staff is friendly and professional. But best of all, it's by far the best hair color, cut and style I've ever had! The prices are reasonable for the value you get.
